This is the Inspiring transformation of one of my gorgeous and hard work Clients Amanda

1. What made you decide to become healthy and lose the weight
After years of slowly gaining gaining gaining, I felt lethargic and out of shape. I started avoiding looking in the mirror and was really depressed. It was time for a major change.

2. How much weight have you lost?
Since I started on my journey I have lost about 21 kg.

3. What is it about being fit and healthy that makes you happy?
In a life filled with kids and work, this something I have been able to do that is just for me. I have taken charge of my life and feel more awake and alive. I know I look better and the competitive side of my revels in the fact that I am now fitter than most people I know.

4. What do you eat for breakfast on an average day
My breakfast is usually a chocolate protein shake with a banana or peanut butter. There is usually a second breakfast somewhere around 10 which consists of Greek yogurt (also loaded with protein!) muesli and berries.

5. What’s your favourite healthy snack?
My favourite snack is probably raw almonds from the local nut shop. They keep the hunger at bay and I know I am getting a lot of nutrition from them. I usually enjoy a peach or a banana with them.

6. What’s the best advice you have received?
I have been told (and now I believe) that it doesn’t matter if you aren’t where you want to be. Keep working towards it at your own pace and you will achieve it. I have also been told that I need to make sure I stretch and roll. It is tough to take the time to do it but when I do, I feel so much better.

7. Make keeps you motivated?
Knowing how different I feel today versus a year and a half ago is all the motivation I need. Back then I never imagined that I could be where I am today. I have also started setting goals and surrounding myself with people that have similar goals to me. Goals give me something to train for and doing it with people that share those goals keeps you honest!

9. What advice can you give someone who is trying to lose weight?
While changing your outlook on food is the number one thing that will lead to weight loss, I found that starting an intense exercise regime and not deviating from it was the key to my success. The harder I worked I got fitter faster, my metabolism increased and I built more muscle…there are all sorts of reasons why i didn’t have time to work hard to achieve a weight loss and fitness goal, but only one reason why I absolutely had to. And that was me. I needed to look after myself in order to be the best I could be for my kids.

9. If you could give the old you one piece of advice what would it be?
Advice for the old me? Stop feeling sorry for yourself, get off your Butt and do something about it!

10. What’s your favourite sweet treat?
I LOVE ice cream but try to only eat it as a special treat. I never keep it in the house. I am also a huge fan of good quality dark chocolate. It helps keep the sweet cravings to a minimum.

11. What’s your favourite form of training and why?
My training is always evolving. I love the muscle building that come from gym sessions (weight training). I am also a keen cyclist. I am developing an appreciation for other cardio activities all the time.

12. What are your health and fitness 2017 resolutions?
I would like to lose another 5 kg and increase my flexibility. I also have a goal to participate in (and complete) an Olympic distance triathlon in November…
